Community Event
Join up to support mental health awareness and suicide prevention at Dartmouth and beyond through connection with classmates, friends, and family in the great outdoors. Multiple local activities are planned as part of this initiative in memory of Omondi Obura ’88, including a hike of Holt’s Ledge and a mindfulness retreat in Pine Park. Register online for more information.
Holt’s Ledge Hike (Saturday, 9 a.m.)
Meet at the Dartmouth skiway parking lot at 9 a.m. to summit Holt’s Ledge via the skiway and to come back down via the AT. The hike has great views at the top and will take less than two hours affording everyone the chance to return to campus for some tailgating before the Homecoming football game.

Mindful Dartmouth Alumni Mini-Retreat in Pine Park (Sunday, 9 a.m.)
Join fellow alumni for a mini contemplative retreat. We will explore how a return to this place is also a return to our interdependence with ourselves, each other and all that live here.
Grounded in shinrin-yoku (“forest bathing”), a Relational Forest Walk invites restoration and reciprocity between us and the more-than-human world. After practicing with our senses, we’ll connect to the unique practice of Mindful Photography, exploring mindfulness and contemplation through what we see and sense with our lens (smartphone cameras are perfect!).
Registration required. Contact: Belinda Chiu
