“The Lame Duck … Can it Swim?”

Maynard Goldman, Lawyer

The DCUV has had a series of speakers on politics and elections, including former government officials, analysts, and media pundits. We have the NH primaries coming up in September, then the state and national Election Day on 11/3. We hope you all vote, in person or by absentee ballot.

Then we will want to discuss the results. Maynard is a popular instructor for OSHER at Dartmouth, a graduate of Michigan and Harvard Law. He will discuss and analyze the recent presidential election. Maynard is a longtime consultant providing political strategies to candidates from both political parties. He has been an OSHER study leader since 2014, and this fall is teaching a course on the “Road to the White House 2020”.

Speaker biography:

Maynard Goldman graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in Political Science and Harvard Law School with a JD. He also attended Harvard Business School for an Executive Management Program.

In addition to his entrepreneurial career in business and finance he found time to participate in politics on both sides of the aisle. His experience ranged from projects for Gerald Ford as a Congressman; Joseph Martin as Speaker of the House and Ed Brooke, Senator from Massachusetts to working with Michael Dukakis, Ted Kennedy and Speaker Tip O’Neill. He ran a number of state wide political campaigns and has been a consultant to candidates up and down the ticket.

The fall DCUV monthly talks will continue to use the Zoom platform. Join the Zoom meetings after 5:15 pm, to chat and settle in to Zoom. Zoom links will be sent in future emails.

We ask that once you have joined the meeting and it’s time for the speaker you turn off your video and audio. The speakers will start at 5:30. We will check with each speaker about their willingness to record their presentations.
